Top 100 WR Dyzier Carter excited about new offer from Michigan

Top 100 WR Dyzier Carter excited about new offer from Michigan

Michigan has made Virginia more of a priority over the last year.

That should come as no surprise as the state is absolutely loaded with talent. The 2026 recruiting class features a dozen Virginia natives in the On300, including Woodberry Forest (Va.) School wide receiver Dyzier Carter.

The Top 100 prospect notched an offer from Michigan this weekend and was fired up when he received the news.

“The Michigan offer meant a lot,” Carter said. “Having an offer from a national championship winning team is a great feeling. I was very impressed with the national championship. I want to be one of those players in a national championship one day.”

Carter is still familiarizing himself with Michigan, but he made it clear that U-M will be a major contender moving forward.

“A lot stands out about Michigan,” Carter said. “That’s big ball right there. A lot of big players came out of Michigan. Being able to have the chance to be the next big thing to come out of there is great.”

Carter added that he enjoyed his first conversation with Michigan wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy.

“He said they have high expectations for me and that they loved seeing my film,” Carter said. “I loved talking to him. I can’t wait to have a great relationship with him and build a friendship with him.”

Michigan is obviously known as a run-first team. However, Carter believes he can add a different element to U-M’s offense.

“Hopefully, we can switch it up and make it more of a throwing program,” Carter said. “I feel like I can bring a lot. I’m known as the spark to the fire. I’ll make a big play and set the tone. I hope I can bring that to wherever I commit to.”

Carter, who is a teammate of Top 100 Michigan running back target Savion Hiter, is looking to make his first visit to U-M later this offseason.

“I want to visit sometime in the summer,” Carter said. “I want to see great coaches, a great campus and great football.”

Along with Michigan, Carter holds offers from Maryland, Miami, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin and others. Carter is set to visit Tennessee this weekend and will visit South Carolina next weekend.

At 6-foot, 180 pounds, Carter is ranked as the No. 12 wide receiver and No. 91 overall prospect nationally, per the On3 Industry Ranking.
