Top-100 WR Dre’lon Miller confirms commitment date, USC taking lead with one month left

Top-100 WR Dre’lon Miller confirms commitment date, USC taking lead with one month left

It is becoming common knowledge that USC is becoming the team to beat for Silsbee (Texas) four-star wide receiver Dre’lon Miller. This article is to join together some information coming out over the past weeks in how Miller’s recruitment is winding down.

Miller is the No. 78 overall prospect and No. 16 wide receiver in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 14 player in Texas.

Miller confirmed on Saturday that he will commit June 29, which comes just a few weeks after his visits to Miami (June 2) and USC (June 16).

LSU and Texas A&M are two others in contention after unofficial visits this spring, but he is yet to lock in an official with either program.

To report on our end, we can confirm WeAreSC will be on hand in person for his commitment.

USC is taking the lead

After an expert pick in favor of USC from WeAreSC.com’s Scott Schrader, the Trojans are the team trending for his commitment in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) with a little less than a month to go. The Trojans currently have a 49.3% chance to land him.

Miller was on campus at USC earlier this spring, and Lincoln Riley wasted no time making an impression on the Texas four-star playmaker.

“I hear from USC probably once a week and they came out to watch me play one week during a game (in the fall) and then also for a practice, and they’re showing me how interested they really are in me,” the On300 athlete told On3’s Sam Spiegelman. … I know Lincoln Riley knows how to get players like me the ball. They have the best offensive coach in the country and (I like) the way they throw the ball and put players in positions to be the best.”

On3 NIL Valuation

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $110K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

What to know about Dre’lon Miller

After racking up 15 touchdowns as a sophomore, Miller had an unforgettable junior season. He recorded 1,399 yards of total offense, 21 touchdown catches, 361 yards rushing and also made an impact on special teams for Silsbee (Texas) High School. “Dre’lon is just a really good kid,” Silsbee coach Randy Smith told 12 News.

“I mean great kid. He’s prepared himself for this moment. We know he’s a special player. Obviously, we try to find ways to get him the ball, and he takes over games for us. He’s that leader for us. But I don’t think we’ve seen his ceiling. I think he’s one of those kids that the sky’s the limit for what he can do. I think with the attention he’s getting, he’s as good as any player in the country.” Away from football, Miller enjoys playing basketball. He plans on majoring in kinesiology in college. His parents are Tonia and Chris Miller.
