Top-100 prospect Daylan McCutcheon intrigued by Florida Gators’ blueprint for him
On Friday, one of the Gators’ out-of-state wide receiver targets in the 2025 class returned to Gainesville for another look at the program. He also visited on June 10 after landing an offer earlier that month, so mutual interest is strong heading into August.
Daylan McCutcheon, a top-100 prospect from Lucas (Texas) Lovejoy, is the prospect Gators Online is referring to.
According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, the Lone Star State native is the No. 99 prospect overall and No. 15 wide receiver.
Oregon, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Miami, Tennessee, Florida State and Texas A&M are just some of the additional offers on the table for McCutcheon.
“My time in Gainesville was great,” McCutcheon told GO. “I was able to get back on campus and reconnect with (wide receivers) coach (Billy) Gonzales and the rest of the crew. I was able to see the campus dorms and feel what it’s like to stay at Florida.
“Overall, it was a great experience to be back and learn more about Florida’s offense with coach Gonzales.”
This time around, the four-star prospect was able to grow closer to additional staff members as well. One of them was the Gators’ head man himself, Billy Napier. McCutcheon says that is another relationship continuing to get stronger ahead of Sept. 1.
“Their coaching staff is great,” said McCutcheon. “I know if I go there, they are definitely a school that can develop me. Their main message was just to stay humble and keep working.”

McCutcheon is expected to visit Florida for a third time
With two visits to the Swamp already in the books, what makes UF an intriguing option for McCutcheon?
“Their facilities and coaching staff are very nice. I love their campus,” the pass catcher replied.
According to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, Oklahoma is trending with odds of 21.5 percent. That is the due to the Sooners having already received three visits from McCutcheon.
As for the Gators, their percentage of 9.1 is good enough for fourth in the RPM; however, McCutcheon says all suitors are on a level playing field early on. On top of that, this is a prospect who has already logged 20-plus visits, so homework is certainly getting done.
“Just like every school; they stayed the same; no school over the other,” said McCutcheon.
While an exact date is not known, McCutcheon expects to attend a Florida game in the coming months.
