To no one’s surprise, Purdue’s Braden Smith wins the Cousy Award as nation’s top point guard
As should have been expected, Purdue’s Braden Smith has won the 2025 Cousy Award, given annually to the nation’s top point guard.
Already honored as a first-team All-American, Sporting News, The AP, USBWA and NABC. He’s one of four finalists for the Naismith Award and Wooden national player-of-the-year awards.
Smith, the Big Ten Player-of-the-Year, averaged 15.8 points and 8.7 assists as a junior, leading Purdue to 24 wins and its sixth Sweet 16 out of the past eight NCAA Tournaments.
