Tight end target Amir Jackson breaks down first look at Tennessee
Four-star tight end prospect Amir Jackson hadn’t been to rocky Top throughout the recruiting process, but that all changed on Saturday as the 6-foot-5, 210 pound athlete took in all that was Tennessee at the ‘865 Live’ recruiting event.
“I loved it – everything about it. The campus here, the scavenger hunt. Everything was just nice,” the prospect told Volquest. “At first I didn’t have as much of interest because I hadn’t been here, but since I’ve come here – I like it.”
Position coach Alec Abeln has ramped up the communication process of late as that relationship continues to grow. He, along with head coach josh Heupel, made sure Jackson had a memorable day in Knoxville.
“He is a good dude. We get along well. It was pretty easy today. He is a good dude,” the tight end said of Abeln before being asked about Josh Heupel. “It’s in his name, man. He’s a good dude too. He’s energetic. He interacts with everybody, no matter who you are. He makes sure you have fun.”
As far as an official visit and September-December timeline, Jackson is in no hurry.
“I plan on coming back November 18,” when asked about an official visit to Tennessee. “With the stadium being so big and with the crowd, I feel like it’s going to be a good game [Georgia game].”
