Tiger Woods’ Genesis Invitational moved from Riviera Country Club due to LA fires

In collaboration with The Genesis, The Riviera Country Club, and out of respect for the unfolding situation for the LA fires in the area, the PGA Tour announced on Thursday that the 2025 Genesis Invitational will be played at an alternate location the week of February 10th-16th. Tiger Woods and his team are in charge of the event.

The LA wildfires have been some of the worst in the history of the United States, completely destroying thousands of homes and structures in the process. The Palisades and Eaton fires are already among the most destructive in California’s history, torching more than 10,000 structures in a matter of days. With winds in the forecast, those numbers could potentially climb even higher, according to a report from Graeme Bruce of CBC News. Three people have died from the Palisades fire and two people have died in the Eaton fire.

For context, Canada’s most devastating wildfire in Fort McMurray, Alta., in 2016–destroyed an estimated 2,400 structures.
