Three-star cornerback Deylen Platt lists Ole Miss in Top 6
Venice (Fla.) cornerback Deylen Platt released his Top 6 schools on Sunday. USF, Ole Miss, Louisville, Oregon State, Illinois and Wisconsin all made the cut. Now he will be working towards a commitment date. On3’s Jeremy Johnson says it could be as soon as the end of July.
The No. 103 cornerback in the On3 Industry Ranking and No. 135 prospect from Florida recently took an official visit to Illinois in June. Before, he took unofficial visits to Ole Miss, TCU and Texas A&M. As a junior, he made 38 tackles and had eight pass breakups and an interception for Venice High School. Platt was a key cog for a defense which got the Vikings to the Florida 4S state championship game.
He also plays basketball and is a competitor in the 400m dash and the high jump.
“Ole Miss was another great experience, I took an unofficial and participated in the camp,” Platt said. “They most definitely made me feel like I was at home.”

The 6-foot-3, 195 pound recruit has seen his stock rise after a big 7v7 summer. He utilizes his length and ball skills to make plays in one-on-one coverage and has shined at free safety as well. Ole Miss cornerbacks coach Keynodo Hudson, a Florida native, is Platt’s primary recruiter and has coached several like him.
Keynodo Hudson most recently coached Illinois’ Devon Witherspoon.
He was selected by the Seattle Seahawks with the No. 5 overall pick in the first round. Last season, Witherspoon ended with 41 total tackles but he was a terror when the ball was thrown his way. He came into the year with just two interceptions in his career but picked off three passes in 2022.
He also surpassed his previous career high with 14 passes defended in 2022. This ranked Top 10 in the NCAA and 2nd in the Big Ten. He’s also Top 20 in the history of the Big Ten since it started being recorded.

Ole Miss currently has the 27th-ranked recruiting class, per On3’s Industry Ranking Football Team Recruiting Rankings. Hudson currently has two cornerback commits in Patrick Broomfield and Bernard Causey.
