Three-star CB Plas Johnson previews Kansas State visit after offer

Kansas State is preparing to host a huge recruiting weekend in a few days. Six players are scheduled to be on campus, including two of the commits. It makes since since they have been a bit quieter than most programs the last few weeks.

One player who has flown a bit under the radar is Arizona athlete Plas Johnson. The three-star cornerback was just offered by K-State on June 6 and wasted no time in arranging a visit to Manhattan. Additionally, they cracked his list of top three schools as well, along with BYU and Arizona State.

“I felt extremely blessed and was happy I got the chance to compete at a high level,” Johnson said.

Although he has a bit of versatility to his game and is seen as someone that can play on either side of the ball, the secondary would be in his future at Kansas State. With that in mind, cornerbacks coach Van Malone has been one of his lead recruiters.

“Malone was talking about my skill-set and why i would fit in their program,” Johnson shared. “I liked Coach Malone and Coach [Mike] Tuiasosopo a lot.”

A few things about the pair of K-State coaches have stood out to the rising senior.

“Coach Tui is an extremely nice guy and straight up,” Johnson pointed out. ” And with Coach Malone, he was nice and seems like a great coach.”

Tuiasosopo has been Johnson’s lead recruiter for the Wildcats. It makes sense, as he is the lead recruiter in the region for Kansas State. The two have formed a good relationship so far and catapulted the Wildcats into the top group.

“I’ve talked to him for a while since he first started recruiting me,” Johnson noted. “He was always nice and was easy to talk to. He’s respectful and has always been easy to talk to.”

Johnson described why the Sun Devils, Cougars and K-State made the cut for his services.

“The coaches, facility, and the kind of people and fan base they have has made them stand out,” he revealed.

Johnson was just at Arizona State this past weekend. Kansas State gets their crack at him this weekend.

“I’m looking forward to just being able to see it in person,” he concluded.

Johnson is hoping to commit to a school before his senior season.
