‘They told me I’m a priority’: 2025 Ole Miss target Jamarion Morrow taking his time, but planning trips

2025 Germantown (Tenn.) athlete Jamarion Morrow‘s recruitment blew up earlier this year after a big-time sophomore season. And now the 5-foot-9, 180 pound prospect, who has the Red Devils off to an 8-0 start in 2023, has really seen his recruitment take off.

In 2022, he had 554 receiving yards and nine total touchdowns last season for an 11-3 Germantown team. Then in April, Ole Miss running backs coach Kevin Smith extended an offer. The Rebels are recruiting the Tennessee recruit on the offensive side of the ball despite his talents on either side. Tennessee, Oregon, North Carolina, Vanderbilt, Maryland, Michigan State, TCU, Colorado, Mississippi State, Louisville, Indiana, Missouri, Alabama and Purdue, among others, have also extended an offer.

Morrow is the 184th overall prospect in the 2025 class, per On3’s Industry Ranking. He is ranked as the 14th athlete in the cycle and is the 7th-ranked recruit in the state of Tennessee.

Jamarion Morrow admits he’s focused on a state championship right now. But he knows recruiting is inevitable.

“Recruitment is going well, it’s good right now,” Morrow said. “It’s during the season so not really much but I know after the season it will get really rolling.”

Morrow plans on going to a Tennessee game “soon” and a Missouri game “soon. He’s already been to UCF and Alabama. And he also plans on getting down to an Ole Miss game as well.

Kevin Smith is my primary recruiter,” Morrow said. “They told me I’m a priority, they want me as a running back.”

For now, Morrow says UCF, Tennessee, Alabama and Oregon are “on me pretty tough right now.”

Quinshon Judkins has gotten off to a slow start this season but Ulysses Bentley has picked up the slack.

The SMU transfer has been a spark plug off the bench for Ole Miss. He’s run the ball 37 times for 275 yards and three touchdowns through the first half of the season. Bentley is averaging 7.4 yards per carry and has totaled 184 yards over the last two weeks.

Morrow has a similar build to Bentley and would potentially bring a similar skill set to go along with 2023 four-star signee Kedrick Reescano.
