The Wolfpacker Show: NC State football spring game preview
NC State football will be holding its annual spring scrimmage this Saturday at Carter-Finley Stadium. The current weather forecast, however, suggests less than ideal conditions for the game that is open to Wolfpack fans, with a strong chance of rain looming over the afternoon.
Nevertheless, rain or shine, there will be some things to watch when Pack nation gets its first look at the 2023 version of NC State football.

TheWolfpacker.com’s duo of Matt Carter and Ethan McDowell go in depth for this weekend’s scrimmage in the latest episode of The Wolfpacker Show.
The two start by discussing what they are most looking forward to seeing at the spring game, with McDowell pointing towards the early enrollees as what he is most eager to watch perform.
Then the two go position-by-position of what they expect and hope to see from the NC State football roster:
• Why the most realistic expectation for the quarterback position is to expect Virginia transfer Brennan Armstrong to be the most comfortable within the offense, but perhaps the returning NC State signal callers to have a better rapport with the receivers.
• Each provide what they are watching from the skill positions.
• McDowell and Carter take their best guess at what the offensive line may look like (presuming good health), and each agreed the player they are most curious about is Oregon transfer Dawson Jaramillo, whose versatility could be a big asset for NC State football this fall.
• Both hosts also agreed that the position group they may be most curious and excited about seeing is the defensive line, which added a couple of veteran additions to go with some promising young players for NC State defensive line coach Charley Wiles.
• Why most eyes on the NC State linebacker corps will be focused on the young, more inexperienced players.
• How Saturday could offer the first hint of how the secondary may play out, specifically who could be the leader for the third corner spot and how the safeties and nickels may be aligned entering fall.
Plus each McDowell and Carter issue one bold prediction for the NC State football spring game on Saturday.
