Texas swimmer Carson Foster nabs bronze in Men’s 400m IM, France’s Leon Marchand wins gold

Texas Longhorns swimmer Carson Foster has won the bronze medal in the men’s 400 meter individual medley at the Olympics in Paris.

Foster had a final time of 4:08:66 in the race. That was barely enough to make it to the podium in what was a tight race for third. With that, it was the 10th straight Olympics for the United States of America to a medal in the men’s 400 meter individual medley.

Leon Marchand, a French swimmer who also competed in the United States for college, took gold in the event on his home soil. Tomoyuki Matsushita, a Japanese swimmer, took the silver medal.

At 4:02:95, Marchand set the Olympic record for the event.
