Texas lands a commitment from On3 Industry Ranking four-star WR Parker Livingstone

Parker Livingstone made a series of June official visits with a finish line in mind. By the end of the month, his decision came naturally.
Livingstone, the On3 Industry Ranking’s No. 65-rated wide receiver out of the Dallas Metroplex, committed in-state to the Longhorns over the likes of Texas A&M, LSU and South Carolina, which all got the four-star pass-catcher on campus over the past four weekends.
Texas checked off every single box for the 6-foot-3, 180-pound Livingstone, who put an emphasis not only on relationships and development on the football field but on education as well.”
“It was outstanding. The coaching staff there is unbelievable,” Livingstone told On3 of his time on the Forty Acres this past weekend, which lifted the Longhorns over the top in his recruitment.
“Coach Steve Sarkisian, Coach (Chris) Jackson, down to the recruiting people, it was outstanding, and my family and I had a great time,” he continued. “It was an unbelievable, amazing visit. The culture there is amazing. The coaches are amazing, and the best thing about it is the education. It’s top-tier. Football won’t be there forever and you have to have a degree, and that’s something that was big for me.”
“If you go to Texas, you play football for Texas, people will take care of you after that,” the state’s No. 64-rated recruit added. “Business owners and CEOs like football down there in Austin. If you can play 10 years in the NFL, you always have something else to do. I’ve seen it there firsthand and was pointed out to me by Jordan Shipley. He’s doing great after football and the people in Austin take care of him and it’s awesome to see programs like that take care of people.”
Sarkisian was on hand for Livingstone’s regular-season finale last November and has been a mainstay in the receiver’s recruitment ever since. Jackson has come on strong since he arrived in Austin as the Longhorns’ new wide receivers coach at the start of the year.
Both have been significant in Texas’ courtship of Livingstone.
“Both are unbelievable coaches,” he pointed out. “The thing with Coach Jackson is that he played in the NFL. It’s my goal to make it to the NFL and he knows what an NFL receiver looks like, how fast they are and he’s gonna keep you straight and make you work your butt off. I want a coach that’s gonna push me to be the best I can be.
“The same with Sark. He’s been in the NFL. He’s been a head coach at a lot of places. Everywhere he’s been he’s had great receivers … at USC, Alabama, he likes to throw the ball, and as a receiver, I love to see that. Those two coaches have grown to be my favorites.”
The newest Texas commitment checks in as the No. 384 overall player in the country, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
