Texas defensive tackle schedules Kansas State official visit

It is official visit time for Kansas State football recruiting. The first three official visits take place this weekend with St. Louis defensive end Triston Abram, South Dakota defensive end Shawn Hammerbeck and Texas wide receiver Jalen Cooper. June 7-9 will be a very busy weekend for the Wildcats. A new offer to visit K-State will be Lorena, Texas defensive tackle Jackson Blackwell.

Blackwell was recently offered by Kansas State.

“I was very excited about it, they’ve been a great program the last few years and they seem to be great people,” Blackwell began.

K-State defensive tackles coach Mike Tuiasosopo offered the Texan. Tuiasosopo also came to the TCU mega camp to see the defensive tackle.

“He started by saying what do you know about Kansas State and asked some personal questions. He seemed like a great guy who is chill and I can’t wait to meet him in person,” he shared.

The Kansas State defensive tackles coach has made a strong first impression on Blackwell.

“Tuiasosopo seems to know a lot due to him sending multiple people to the league and he sounds like an honest coach,” he noted.

The Texas native is in the process of learning more about K-State.

“I know that they won the Big 12 a couple years ago, Deuce Vaughn went there but other than that not much,” he opined.

Other official visits for Blackwell include going to Texas Tech on June 4-6, Baylor June 14-16 and Houston June 21-23.

“I’m looking forward to getting to know the overall culture of each place,” he pointed out. “I want to find out what the character of the people in the programs really feel and how they handle certain situations. I look forward to meeting new people at the programs and what the players think.”

The rising senior knows what he is looking for in the school he commits to.

“I’m looking for a school that truly stands out to me and shows that they really value me,” he concluded. “I just want to get playing time by any means necessary and anxious to get out there.”
