Texas-based OT Ory Williams locks in second visit with Florida Gators

One of the few remaining offensive line targets for the University of Florida has scheduled his second trip to Gainesville.

Ory Williams, a 6-foot-7, 285-pound offensive tackle who officially visited UF on June 2-4, tells Gators Online he is returning to the Swamp on July 29. It will be for the Grill in the Ville cookout.

A source close to the Gators also confirmed that UF is expecting him in town that day.

“Yeah, I’m going,” Williams told GO on Monday evening.

In addition to the Gators, Williams is considering the likes of LSU, Georgia, Texas and Texas A&M. Oklahoma State received an official visit in the spring, but the Cowboys are on the outside looking in.

Shortly after his official visit with the Gators, Williams also dished out a top three of Florida, LSU and Georgia. He mentioned the possibility of attending the cookout at the time, but that was prior to his eye-opening trips to LSU and Georgia. Much can obviously change over a month span.

Williams is still wanted by UF despite four offensive line commits

According to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Tigers are trending heavily with odds north of 65 percent. Multiple On3 analysts have submitted picks in favor of Brian Kelly’s program as well. That is the program generating the most momentum right now by a long shot.

However, getting Williams back in Gainesville for such a talent-loaded event is a massive deal for UF.

Also, earlier today, a source told GO that Florida is likely done with high school offensive linemen this cycle unless it’s Williams or a few others. There is no doubt the Gators have the opportunity to make a real splash with the Lone Star State native later this month.

“Just the love they showed and the development plan they have for me. Not a lot of schools have that for me, so that really means that I’m a priority for them and that they really want me,” Williams previously said of his interest in the Gators.

“When they broke it down, the process is really just better my pass set, better my run game and my knowledge on the secondary for the backfield. I really got a better feel for (Sale and Stapleton), and I really got to know them better. Real genuine with the words they say and what they talk about.”

If all goes as planned, Williams will make his decision later this year. He recently said additional official visits are a possibility as well, so the opportunity is there for UF.
