Tennessee 5-star QB commit Faizon Brandon invited to Elite 11 Finals

Grimsley (N.C.) five-star quarterback and Tennessee commit Faizon Brandon is headed to the Elite 11 Finals this summer in Los Angeles.

He becomes the third passer to earn an invite to the prestigious camp, joining Texas five-star commit Dia Bell and Houston five-star signal-caller Keisean Henderson, who were invited after standout performances at the Austin regional. Brandon’s nod came after his standout performance Sunday at the event’s Atlanta regional.

There are few higher honors for prep quarterbacks than being invited to the event, which will celebrate its 26th year in 2025. It bring together 20 of the country’s elite signal-callers for three days of competition and training in Los Angeles during the month of June.

Elite 11 alumni include Carson PalmerAndrew LuckMatthew StaffordTim Tebow, and more recently Trevor LawrenceC.J. StroudBryce Young and more. Last year’s Elite 11 Finals featured more than a dozen of the top 20 quarterbacks in the final On3 Industry Rankings, including five of the top six players at the position.

The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Brandon is coming off a stellar junior season where he completed 77% of his passes while throwing for 2,814 yards, 35 touchdowns and just two interceptions. He also flashed his running ability, racking up 625 rushing yards and nine more scores on just 78 attempts.

Brandon locked in with the Vols

He has been committed to Tennessee since August 3, 2024, when he chose the Volunteers over Alabama and LSU.

“I started feeling Tennessee a while ago,” Brandon told On3. “They started recruiting me early, and the first impression they made on me was unlike any other. The staff recruited me hard from the get-go, they kept it steady with me and they pushed so hard to get me. All of that made an impact on why I picked them.”

The Vols offered Brandon before his sophomore season, and he has remained locked in with their class.

“It just felt like home. From the beginning, I liked it a lot at Tennessee,” Brandon said. “I kept going back and it felt like home from the start. I think I have visited six or seven times now, and I kept getting that good feeling every time I was there. It wasn’t an easy decision, but I knew it was Tennessee. The feeling for them was different and it never changed. My relationships with coaches on both sides of the ball and the support system make it feel like home at Tennessee.”

Brandon is the nation’s No. 7 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is the No. 2 quarterback in the class and the No. 1 recruit from the state of North Carolina.
