Talented Edge Joseph Anderson hears NFL comparison from Nebraska staff on OV

Joseph Anderson from St. Louis (Mo.) Westminster Christian Academy is a three-star Edge and a tremendous, overall athlete. Anderson is a state champion in track and Nebraska sees Anderson like NFL defensive end Brian Burns and got into how the Husker staff could see him playing in their defense while on his official visit.

1 Corinthians 10:31 I am blessed and honored to have received an offer from Nebraska. Thank you to @CoachMattRhule @s_kwilli32 and @Rob_Dvoracek

“We got around campus and hung around with the players,” Anderson said. “We ate a lot. It was really good to get up there and see everything. We also got a tour of the current facility and the new facility.

“There was a chance to meet with the coaches individually on Saturday. We met with the position coaches, and coordinators and hung out with the players again that night.”

Joseph Anderson gets a lot out of the player-host and spends a lot of time with another recruit

Anderson was hosted by one of the more intriguing, mid-year transfers. Cameron Lenhardt was offered and committed to Scott Frost and his staff. He decommitted when the defensive coordinator was fired and was re-offered and signed with Rhule and Nebraska. Anderson got a lot out of the time with Lenhardt this weekend.

“My host was Cameron Lenhardt. He said that there are good people there, and he’s glad that he picked the right option to come to Nebraska. I also hung out with Carlon Jones, who was on his visit this weekend too.”

There is one coach who is the recruiting coach and another who would be Anderson’s position coach. His position coach had the film ready of an NFL defensive end that reminds him of Anderson.

“Coach Dvoracek has been recruiting me for Nebraska. I went over film with Knighton. We watched film on Brian Burns because I remind him of him. He told me where I would be playing and what my position would be.”

First visit to Nebraska was a huge success for Joseph Anderson

This was Anderson’s first opportunity to visit Nebraska, and it didn’t disappoint. According to Anderson, the staff and the other people related to the program and the players were the best parts of the visit.

“I would give is a “9” or a “9.5”,’ Anderson said. “The best part of the trip for me was the people around the program and getting to hang out with the players.”

Anderson has a couple of other official visits set for June. He will check out a Big XII school this weekend and another Big Ten school in three weeks.

“I still have a couple more official visits I plan to take this month and we will see from there. We will be in Kansas this coming weekend and Iowa on the 23rd.”

Anderson knows when he wants to decide and has made a plan with his parents. He’s choosing to keep it private for now. Anderson also met with the Nebraska track coaches during his official visit. They discussed doing his best event, which would likely be the triple jump right now.
