Talented 2025 four-star WR Cortez Mills wants to visit Nebraska this fall

Talented 2025 four-star WR Cortez Mills wants to visit Nebraska this fall

Nebraska has worked hard through June, and their recruiting class currently has 23 commits. With the current class nearly complete, it makes sense that Nebraska would start paying more attention to 2025 recruits like four-star wide receiver Cortez Mills from Homestead (Fla.).

“I am working out with my team and on my own this summer,” Mills said. “When I have my off days, I just hit the field and workout with my quarterback. Other than that, we are in the weight room and will hit the field just getting ready for the season.”

Mills hopes to be successful again this fall but knows he has to step it up. His coach told him that he needed to step up as a leader before he left to join Matt Rhule and his staff at Nebraska.

“I want to do the same things I did last year, but even better. The seniors are gone and I have to go extremely hard because it’s on me. I have to be a leader this year.

“Before coach Phil (Simpson) left and went to Nebraska he told me that I have to step up as a player and a leader on and off the field. I am taking his advice and I am going to do that.”

Cortez Mills thinks that the players from the 305 will have success at Nebraska

Mills retweeted Matt Rhule celebrating the last commitment for Nebraska, Jacory Barney. Mills, another wide receiver from south Florida like Barney, thinks that the players from south Florida going to Nebraska will have success.

“All of the 305 players coming from down here and going up there to Nebraska rare going to dominate,” Mills said. “They are going to take over. Nebraska is going to get better and should be doing really well in a couple of years.”

Mills says he stays in touch with his former high school coach and regularly talks to other Nebraska staff.

“I am in contact with him every day. I call the Nebraska staff every day. They have been treating me like family over the phone.”

Nebraska coaches trying to get Cortez Mills to Lincoln this fall

Nebraska wants Mills to visit Nebraska for an unofficial visit before an official visit next year. They would like him for Mills to see a game in Lincoln this fall.

“I am trying to get up to Nebraska for a game this fall. They told me that they were going to be sure to get me up there before I took an official visit. They want to get me up there early.”

Mills has taken a couple of visits and has a couple more scheduled before his junior season.

“I took a visit to Clemson and July 27th I am going to Louisville. Earlier in the summer I took a visit to Miami and I will visit FAU really soon.”
