Takeaways from second Ohio State recruiting camp

Takeaways from second Ohio State recruiting camp

COLUMBUS — Ohio State hosted its second recruiting camp of the summer on Monday with a solid turnout.

Five-star New Haven (Ind) wide receiver and Ohio State commit Mylan Graham led the camp performers merely by being on campus. Even with that, Graham looked the part of a five-star wideout, but more on him in a second.

Lettermen Row offers up a few thoughts about the Buckeyes’ second camp and what to expect later today.

Let’s dive in.

Mylan Graham

Mylan Graham snuck his way from the depths of the Woody Hayes Athletic Center onto the indoor practice field and then outside for a workout with wide receiver coach Brian Hartline.

Graham looks more fluid every time we see him perform in a camp setting and his footwork is incredible.

Lettermen Row and other outlets spoke with Graham following his performance and we will have a story up on that soon.

Jordon Davison

2025 four-star Santa Ana (Calif) Mater Dei running back Jordon Davison is in the middle of a multi-day visit to Ohio State. He participated in the Buckeyes’ single-day camp and certainly looks every bit of one of the best backs in his class.

The 5-foot-11, 210-pound running back spent a lot of time with running back coach Tony Alford, but had great moments with defensive coordinator Jim Knowles during one-on-one drills against linebackers.

Davison leaves campus tomorrow morning for the West Coast.

Tarvos Alford

Four-star Port St. Lucie (Fla) John Carroll linebacker Tarvos Alford made his debut visit to Ohio State on Monday.

The No. 8 linebacker and No. 74 overall prospect earned his Ohio State offer earlier this spring and even so, he still camped with the Buckeyes. Alford is a bit shorter than his listed 6-foot-2, but it doesn’t matter. He moves exceedingly well and even without pads on, he is a physical prospect.

Alford was closely watched by James Laurinaitis, Jim Knowles and Ryan Day.

Carter Lowe

Four-star Toledo (Ohio) Whitmer offensive tackle Carter Lowe was back at Ohio State, working extensively with offensive line coach Justin Frye and assistant Mike Sollenne.

Once head coach Ryan Day made his way out to the field, he closely watched Lowe and the two had a pretty extensive conversation.

Lowe was adamant that Ohio State and Michigan are his top two schools and hopes to be committed within a year from now. The rising junior visits Georgia and Alabama this week as well.
