OTHER NOTEWORTHY STATS

– After he was slow out of the gate, Alabama outside linebacker Dallas Turner has recorded 4.5 sacks over the last two games. He has already surpassed his 2022 season output (4.0), and he leads the SEC after the fourth week of the 2023 campaign. It is also tied for the third-most in the nation. His fellow edge rusher, Chris Braswell, isn’t far behind Turner with 3.5 sacks and is tied for third place in the SEC. With five sacks in each of its last two games, the Crimson Tide is up to 13 on the season and is tied for fourth in the league with Texas A&M.

In terms of tackles for loss, Turner is third in the SEC with 6.5. Braswell is fifth with 5.5.

– Cornerback Terrion Arnold finished the Ole Miss game with three passes defended (two pass breakups and one interception), and that brings his season-long total to five pass breakups and six passes defended. He is tied for the SEC lead in pass breakups, while he is second in overall defended passes – he is tied for ninth place nationally in the same category. His running mate, Kool-Aid McKinstry, has three pass breakups and is tied for eighth in the SEC.

– Back in the starting lineup after not playing against South Florida, quarterback Jalen Milroe led Alabama to a win in its first SEC game of the year. He had six throws of 20-plus yards, including a 33-yard touchdown pass to true freshman wide receiver Jalen Hale, and now has a yards per attempt average of 10.2, which is fourth in the SEC and 13th in the nation. Milroe’s passer rating sits at 173.36 and is the third-best in the league and 16th among all FBS players.

– Running back Jase McClellan rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries in the last game, giving him the second 100-yard game of his Alabama career. The senior is now up to 263 rushing yards on the season, which is the sixth-most in the SEC, while his 65.75 yards per carry is good for eighth place. McClellan is fourth in the conference in both rushing attempts with 52 and attempts per game (13.0). Milroe is tied for fifth with 12.67 carries per game.

James Burnip punted three more times in Week 4 and averaged 48.3 yards per punt in the win over the Rebels. That brought his four-game average up to 48.21 yards per punt, which leads the SEC and is good for fifth place nationally among eligible specialists (3.6 ppg). There are still at least eight games left to play, but Burnip’s average is currently a Saban era-best.

– Alabama placekicker Will Reichard made three more field goals and one extra point in the win on Saturday, and with 11 more points, he is now in 13th place on the NCAA’s career scoring list with 458. Reichard is 7-for-7 on field goals and is one of only four SEC kickers (who averages at least 1.0 kick per game) to not miss an attempt. He is also 11-for-11 on extra points.
