Standout Oregon RB Commit Tradarian Ball Shuts Down Recruitment

2026 four-star Texarkana (Tex.) Texas High running back Tradarian Ball committed to Oregon in July of last year. On Thursday he decided that he was completely finished with the recruiting process and shut down his recruitment, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

“903 to 541 recruitment officially over,” Ball said in the social media post.

The 5-foot-9, 170-pound back recently visited Miami as Mario Cristobal and the Hurricanes tried their hand at flipping him from the Ducks to the Hurricanes by hosting him on a visit. Fawcett also reported that Ball does not intend to visit any schools other than Oregon moving forward.

Ball is ranked the No. 155 player nationally, the No. 14 running back and the No. 17 prospect in Texas according to the On3 rankings. As a junior in 2024 Ball ran for 777 yards on 68 carries (11.4 YPC) and 14 rushing touchdowns. He also made a huge impact in the passing game reeling in 44 passes for 1,017 yards and 11 touchdowns, bringing his all-purpose total to just under 2,000 yards at 1,947.

The Lone Star State prep is the only running back commitment in Oregon’s 2026 recruiting class and a signature recruiting win for running backs coach Ra’Shaad Samples in his home state of Texas. He’s the second Oregon commitment in the 2026 cycle to shut down his recruitment, as he joined five-star Reidsville (NC) tight end Kendre Harrison, who announced he was finished with the recruiting process earlier this month.

Ball is scheduled to take his Oregon official visit on June 20 in what’s shaping up to be the biggest recruiting weekend of the summer for Dan Lanning and the Ducks in Eugene.

Oregon has On3’s No. 3 recruiting class in the 2026 cycle, which is good for No. 2 in the Big Ten rankings trailing only USC. Samples would love to add another back alongside Ball and is pursuing prospects like four-star Deshonne Redeaux, four-star TJ Hodges and three-star DeZephen Walker among others.

Ball is the next in line to follow a great crop of running back talent in Eugene, with Samples adding Tulane transfer Makhi Hughes to the roster this offseason, as well as four-star backs Jordon Davison and Dierre Hill.
