Spurs-Grizzlies medical emergency update: Positive news emerges on hospitalized fan given CPR courtside

A positive update has emerged on the fan who had to be given CPR prior to the start of Monday night’s game between the San Antonio Spurs and Memphis Grizzlies. According to Doc Holliday of Action News 5 in Memphis, medical staff was able to revive the man after he passed out on the court before the contest.

“Pulse is strong!” Holliday wrote. “They brought him back. I’m thankful. All praises to the Most High!”

The man had to be carried out of the arena on a stretcher after receiving CPR. It’s great to hear that he is still breathing after the scary situation, and hopefully it will be a speedy recovery back for him.

The situation delayed the start of the game as the fan was attended to. The person was given CPR while still on the court as the situation appeared to be extremely serious in nature. Local reporter Matt Infield, who was in the arena courtside, posted on X that it also appeared that the medical staff attempted to shock the person’s heart back.

The matchup ultimately tipped off at 7:51 p.m., not quite one hour after its originally scheduled time. The Grizzlies would go on to a 128-109 win, but the biggest victory of the evening was the news that the man appears to be OK.
