Spencer Rattler: Harbor has ‘insane’ speed
After a thrilling finish to the 2022 season, South Carolina Gamecocks fans are eager for another year of Spencer Rattler.
They are also excited to lay eyes for the first time on the highest-ranked member of the 2023 recruiting class, five-star Nyckoles Harbor.
The Washington (D.C.) Archbishop Carroll product arrived in Columbia this summer, and he is currently in the midst of going through the summer conditioning program and offseason throwing sessions.

During an interview with GamecockCentral.com presented by Garnet Trust, Rattler gave some early returns on what he’s seen from Harbor.
Not surprisingly, the world-class speed came up immediately.
“I mean, we know Nick is a fast track guy,” said Ratttler. “Seeing him on the outside running these go routes, just throwing it up to him, he kind of just goes and gets it. So you just throw it to a spot and he’ll go get it. He’s got some insane speed.”
The Gamecocks program utilizes the Catapult system to track workload and speed metrics, and Harbor’s apparently put up some very impressive times.

“I thnk he hit 22.8 miles per hour, 22.7, the other week just in workouts,” Rattler said.
As Harbor continues to develop as a pass-catcher, one of the most intriguing storylines heading into fall camp is how he may be utilized in Dowell Loggains’ offense.
Rattler believes that Harbor’s long speed adds another element to a corps of receivers that Rattler is excited to throw to during the 2023 season.
“We’ve got so many different guys that I feel like if you’re a defense you’re gonna have to focus on more than just one guy,” Rattler explained. “Four or five, six different guys, seven guys that you’ll have to pay attention to including the running backs. So, you know, all these weapons just add a new layer of a way to attack.”
