‘Special to me’: Four-star 2024 commit Kamron Beavers returns to Ole Miss

Four-star 2024 defensive lineman Kamron Beavers had plenty of options.

He holds double-digit scholarship offers, including a handful from the SEC. Among them is Ole Miss, as well as Alabama, Auburn, LSU and Texas A&M. Beavers is ranked as the nation’s No. 133 recruit. He’s the No. 17 defensive lineman and the No. 4 player in Mississippi.

The Rebels emerged from the crowded field some three weeks ago — when the 6-foot-4, 323 pound Beavers became Ole Miss’ highest-rated commitment. He joined an Ole Miss class already featuring fellow in-state prospects Jeffery Rush (EDGE), Chris Davis (RB), Patrick Broomfield (CB), Jeremy Scott (WR) and Raymond Collins (LB).

Rush, like Beavers, is a four-star. Collins is a JUCO addition. The Rebels currently boast the No. 19 class in the country.

“Ole Miss is special to me,” Beavers said. He arrived in Oxford for another visit on Friday. The Rebels are hosting their ‘Friday Night Lights’ camp.

“It’s different. It’s a different environment a little bit. It’s close to home, too.”

On3 has Beavers ranked higher than the other recruiting services.

He’s the No. 15 overall EDGE in the 2024 On300. On3 also has Beavers as the No. 2 player in the state.

His commitment alone boosted Ole Miss six spots (from No. 25) in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. The Rebels are No. 11 in the SEC.

Beavers plans to return to campus later this month and again in July for JuiceFest.

“Me and (Ole Miss defensive line) coach (Randall) Joyner, we’ve got a good relationship. He texts me all day and makes sure we stay in touch with each other,” Beavers said. “They have a plan for me to succeed in life after football (and) they really could put me anywhere (in the field), in my opinion.

“They’re trying to get me situated to a (four-technique) alignment.”
