Southern Illinois transfer forward Kennard Davis commits to BYU

Southern Illinois transfer forward Kennard Davis committed to BYU, he told On3’s Joe Tipton. He averaged 16.3 points per game for the Salukis before entering the transfer portal.
Davis put together a breakout sophomore season at SIU, finishing second on the team in scoring while leading the Salukis with 2.6 assists per game. He also shot nearly 38% from three-point territory as he earned a spot on the Missouri Valley Conference Most Improved Team. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Davis played high school basketball at St. Louis (Mo.) Vashon, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 286 overall player from the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
