South Carolina’s MiLaysia Fulwiley plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal

South Carolina’s MiLaysia Fulwiley has been one of the more exciting players in all of college basketball through a pair of seasons. However, after starring at her hometown school, she’ll now reportedly be headed elsewhere than Columbia.
Fulwiley plans to enter her name into the NCAA Transfer Portal. That comes per reporting by Lulu Kesin with the Greenville News on Friday with confirmation since from GamecockCentral.
Fulwiley has appeared in 77 games, just three of those being starts though, through her sophomore season. In that reserve role for the Gamecocks, Fulwiley has averaged 11.7 points (43.2% FG, 30.2% 3PT), 2.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.6 steals per game. That earned her honors as All-SEC Second Team and Sixth-Woman of the Year this season after being SEC All-Freshman last season.
Fulwiley has also been a part of all of the team successes the past two years for South Carolina. The Gamecocks were 73-4 during her time in the program. They’ve won, either outright or a share of, all four of the conference titles, with Fulwiley being MVP at the 2024 SEC Tournament and All-Tournament in 2024 and 2025, and played for the national title in each of the two postseasons in the NCAA Tournament with an undefeated national championship in 2024 and a runner-up finish in 2025.
Fulwiley, a native of Columbia, went to high school at W.J. Keenan less than a half hour north of Colonial Life Arena. She came into the program alongside Tessa Johnson and Sahnya Jah back in their class in 2023.
