Following winning their third national championship in program history, South Carolina remained in Cleveland on Sunday. The team will depart back for Columbia, S.C. on Monday and will hold a welcome home celebration with fans at Colonial Life Arena.

On Sunday night, South Carolina athletics released the following statement in regards to Monday’s event.
South Carolina women’s basketball will celebrate its third NCAA National Championship with its fans upon returning to Columbia on Mon., Apr. 8. Fans can welcome the team home at Colonial Life Arena with doors opening at 12:30 p.m., and the celebration beginning no earlier than 2 p.m.
Fans should enter via the Main Entrance and can sit in Sections 101-104 and 115-118. Selected concessions stands will be open. A replay of the game will show on the videoboard prior to the team’s arrival, and the team DJ will be on hand to keep the energy high throughout.
Fans can park for free in Lots A and B in front of the arena, although with classes in session space may be tight.

Finishing the season (38-0), South Carolina becomes just the tenth team in women’s basketball history to finish a season undefeated. USC becomes the first team since the 2015-16 UConn Huskies to achieve the feat. The win also makes Dawn Staley just the fifth coach in women’s basketball history to win three national championships. She joins Geno Auriemma (11), Pat Summit (8), Kim Mulkey (4), and Tara Vanderveer (3).
In the past four years, the Gamecocks have gone (135-8). No other team has more than 122 wins in that span.
