South Carolina holds Texas to historically low point total in first half of SEC Championship
The SEC Tournament got the final that they wanted with No. 1 South Carolina and No. 2 Texas having a rematch in Greenville. However, the third game between the two is all for the Gamecocks.
South Carolina took a 33-16 lead into halftime over Texas. With that, the 16 points by the Longhorns were the fewest-ever points in the half in an SEC Championship.
Texas shot only 8/27 (29.6% FG%) overall in the first half. They did score 10 points at 33% in the opening quarter to be down just two. After that, though, the Longhorns scored only 6 points at 25% FG when the deficit reached to 17 for the Gamecocks.
