Sooners One of Many Premier Programs Chasing Elijah Thomas

CHECOTAH, Okla. – In Oklahoma’s absolutely loaded class of 2025 there are several legitimate contenders for the state’s top spot. Few of those have a stronger case than wide receiver ElIjah Thomas. The Sooners along with Alabama, Arkansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, and Texas A&M amongst others.
Thomas, who is currently ranked as the nation’s No. 19 wide receiver, and No. 119 overall player in the On3 industry rankings, has a busy summer planned. Though he isn’t quite sure of all the camps he’ll attend, he was in Norman on Thursday for the first day of Sooners camps.
That visit shouldn’t come as a huge surprise as he was fairly open in talking with SCOOPHD about his affinity for the Sooners.
“The school I’ve really been following my whole life is OU, as a child, my whole family,” Thomas said.
Late last week he picked up his offer from Alabama and is definitely considering a trip to Tuscaloosa to see Nick Saban and the Tide.
For now though he seems ready to continue mulling over his offers. Interestingly one coach has been responsible for recruiting him to two schools, Sooners assistant Emmett Jones. The first-year Norman resident offered Thomas while he was still at Tech and is now working to bring him west in Oklahoma.
“He came down here this week,” he said. “He really wants me on campus (at Oklahoma).”
Thomas’s visit to Norman was his third so far in the recruiting cycle with trips also made to Arkansas and Kansas State.
