Sooners Go Offense Heavy on Day Two

Sooners Go Offense Heavy on Day Two

The Sooners camp was a huge event that saw new offers go out to players at almost every position on the field. On day two of camp Oklahoma offered players at every offensive position save for quarterback. Beyond that they also made their first in-state offer in the class of 2026.

Ivan Carreon – 2024 – WR – Odessa, Texas

Breakdown: Carreon is an intriguing player that worked, very briefly, at tight end on the day but it’s clear the Sooners are pursuing him as a receiver. Carreon brings the type of size and athleticism that Emmett Jones has succeeded with in his career.

Sooners Chances: This one is very up in the air with Oklahoma at various points feeling like the favorite or out of the race entirely.

Chase Loftin – 2025 – TE – Omaha (Neb.) Elkhorn North

Breakdown: Oklahoma became Loftin’s first offer following a strong camp performance. He also helped fulfill an impressive quota as he marks four straight years the Sooners have made a tight end offer in Nebraska.

Sooners Chances: Loftin has called Oklahoma a ‘dream offer’ but Nebraska followed suit shortly thereafter, can much come of that? We’ll find out.

Evenson Malaska – 2026 – CB – Bethany, Okla.

Breakdown: The Sooners loved Malaska’s feet and natural athleticism and just pushed forward with an offer for him. He’s a guy with some big-time speed who could develop into a high-end cover corner.

Sooners Chances: Usually an early in-state offer would make Oklahoma incredibly tough to beat but Malaska’s brother, Jocelyn, being at Utah makes it more interesting.

Gregory Patrick – 2026 – OL – Portage (Mich.) Northern

Breakdown: Patrick was moved around a bit while on campus from tackle to center and impressed Oklahoma with his versatility. He also simply responded well to the challenges the Sooners faced him and made his offer a must.

Sooners Chances: Patrick liked the way he was coached by Bill Bedenbaugh and the Sooners staff and a return visit seems completely possible in the near future.

Michael Turner Jr. – 2025 – RB – North Richland Hills (Texas) Richland

Breakdown: Turner impressed Oklahoma with his work ethic and how well he took to coaching. To forget that he’s a big-time talent that impressed everyone with his burst and quickness.

Sooners Chances: Turner liked what he heard from Oklahoma’s staff and Demarco Murray impressed him early on.
