Sooners Gaining Momentum, Making Visits Across the Country

The spring evaluation period was once the highlight of the spring in college football. And though the transfer portal has taken on plenty of importance the Sooners staff is heavily invested on the road. As such we’re taking a look at a number of their stops over the early portion of the week – included among them are a few new offers.
One of those offers went out to Reston Lehman of Pittsburgh (Pa.) Peters Township. The big man, though listed at 215-pounds seems to be more in the 230-pound range and with the offer from Miguel Chavis, it would seem the Sooners see him as a potential defensive end target.
We’re looking for more on Lehman but he’s got obvious ties to in-state Pittsburgh and Penn State as well as some clear family connections to Iowa – who also likes him as a pass rusher.
Sooners Chasing Fast Rising DMV Star
Few players have seen their names climb faster in the last week than T-Ron Richardson of Hopewell, Va. The talented defensive lineman, just a week ago had a solid offer list but one comprised mostly of group of five offers. Over the past week, the SEC has jumped on board. One such offer came on Wednesday from Todd Bates and the Sooners.
At this point Richardson has a visit set to Virginia Tech on June 20 but still seems quite open to the process. One might wonder if Oklahoma’s ties, due to much of the staff’s time in the ACC, could help their efforts in pursuit of Richardson.
OU Not Going Away for Safety with Big Offer List
A name that the Sooners have stayed engaged with for quite some time, in spite of little fanfare about is Frisco (Texas) Panther Creek safety Donovan Webb. The talented defender who holds offers from Ohio State, LSU, Michigan, USC, and Oregon among many others played host to Sooners safety coach Brandon Hall on Tuesday.
Webb has shown interest in the Sooners but he is one of several safeties that seem engaged but the hierarchy is something we’ll have to watch play out.
Hall Stays Busy on the Road
Webb was far from Hall’s only stop in the Lone Star State this week as he got by to see elite 2027 safety Devontrae Kirkland of Waco University. The talented defensive back has been high on the Sooners, after making several trips to Norman, for quite some time.
The Sooners will have their work cut out for them in chasing Kirkland though he did release a top six that included the Sooners.
Oklahoma Hits Dallas En Masse
It’s hard to get a group together to represent the Sooners interest in Pupungatoa Katoa but this week, they tried. The Sooners entire offensive staff rolled out to see the mountainous offensive lineman from Euless (Texas) Trinity.
The big blocker has a final three of Oklahoma, SMU, and Texas A&M. The Sooners remain a truly possible option with his affinity for the SOUL mission as well as Oklahoma offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh.
