Social media reaction to Notre Dame’s “Grill and Chill” recruiting event

Notre Dame held one of its biggest recruiting days of the year Sunday, as around 30 prospects — mostly 2025 targets — made it to South Bend for the Irish’s “Grill and Chill” event.

The prospects and their parents have been taking to Twitter to post pictures and give comment on their experience in South Bend. It’s safe to say that the prospective student-athletes and their families had an enjoyable time on campus.

One of the highest-ranked recruits on campus was Geneva (Ill.) Community’s Talyn Taylor, the No. 68 overall player and No. 11 wide receiver per the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking. His mom tweeted a photo (from left to right) of Saline (Mich.) High quarterback CJ Carr, receivers coach Chansi Stuckey, Taylor and Glen Ellyn (Ill.) Glenbard South receiver Cam Williams. Taylor is a huge target for the Irish in the 2025 cycle.

We had a great day at Notre Dame! The Irish Olympics brought all the competitors out! @taylor_talyn @13Cjcarr @cam_will30 Thank you for having us @Marcus_Freeman1 and @ChansiStuckey @NDFootball pic.twitter.com/ptxU1hyWnM

The father of Winston Salem (N.C.) Mount Tabor’s JaDon Blair tweeted out a photo of his son and Milford (Conn.) Brunswick School’s Ethan Long. Both 2025 safety prospects are notable targets for Notre Dame. Long is unranked, while Blair is the No. 190 overall player and No. 15 safety nationally per the On3 Industry Ranking.

Winter Garden (Fla.) West Orange’s Ivan Taylor, the No. 96 overall player and No. 8 safety per the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking, was another top target on campus Sunday. His father, Ike Taylor, who spent several years in the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers, tweeted out a photo.

Taylor wasn’t the only prospect from the Sunshine State on campus. Miami Palmetto’s Davion Dixon, who ranks as the No. 356 overall recruit and No. 36 defensive lineman in the country, was on campus. It was his first return visit as an Irish commit.

He tweeted photos with fellow Florida-based prospects Sean Sevillano, a 2024 three-star defensive lineman and Irish commit out of Clearwater (Fla.) Academy International, as well as Newberry (Fla.) High 2025 defensive lineman Jarquez Carter.
