SMU welcomes summer enrollees to campus
SMU Football welcomed its summer enrollees to campus ahead of workouts getting back underway to prepare for fall camp. Here’s the rundown on who made it to campus for summer workouts.
By the end of the summer, 42 newcomers will have arrived on the Hilltop.
This spring, wide receiver Jaxson Lavender, linebacker Alex Kilgore, tight end Lonnie Johnson and defensive lineman Braeden Flowers were the high school signees who enrolled early.
Texas A&M offensive lineman PJ Williams and running back LJ Johnson, Liberty transfers Chris Megginson and Ahmad Walker, Fresno State transfer defensive back Cale Sanders, Missouri transfer offensive lineman Hyrin White, Iowa quarterback transfer Alex Padilla, West Virginia transfer defensive back Charles Woods, LSU defensive back transfer Jaelyn Davis-Robinson and Stanford defensive back Jonathan McGill are among those who went through spring practice.
Multiple Miami transfers also went through spring practice, including wide receiver Key’Shawn Smith, defensive lineman Jordan Miller, defensive lineman Elijah Roberts, running back Jaylan Knighton and wide receiver Romello Brinson. Miami offensive lineman Jakai Clark is finishing up a class and is expected to arrive in July.
TCU defensive back Kyron Chambers and wide receiver Jordan Hudson, Notre Dame offensive lineman Caleb Johnson, Texas State tight end Micah Hilts, Texas punter Isaac Pearson, Colorado defensive back Keyshon Mills, and Texas offensive lineman Logan Parr enrolled at SMU in time for June workouts.
Oklahoma defensive line transfer Kori Roberson, Temple linebacker Kobe Wilson and North Texas defensive end Cam Robertson are joining the program in July, finishing up their own academic responsibilities. In Wilson’s case, he’s wrapping up an internship.
2023 high school signees arrive at SMU
Port Saint Lucie (Fla.) Treasure Coast offensive lineman Alex Woods, Frisco (Tex.) Wakeland tight end Tripp Riordan, Everman (Tex.) defensive lineman Kevin Allen, Wichita Falls (Tex.) Hirschi wide receiver and On3 4-star prospect Jamarion Carroll, McKinney (Tex.) quarterback Keldric Luster, Dallas (Tex.) South Oak Cliff safety Abdul Muhammad, Frisco (Tex.) linebacker Brandon Miyazono, Houston (Tex.) Jersey Village offensive lineman Reagan Gill and Valencia (Calif.) West Ranch offensive tackle Sean Scott enrolled this month.
Miami (Fla.) Northwestern tight end Adam Moore, Austin (Tex.) Vandegrift defensive lineman Daemian Wimberly and Dallas (Tex.) South Oak Cliff wide receiver Randy Reece aren’t with the program just yet. Moore and Wimberly are expected in July, finishing up class responsibilities. Reece is still recovering from injury and he is awaiting to see how he can best approach his recovery.
