SMU to host On300 prospect for official visit

SMU will host 2024 Conroe (Tex.) Oak Ridge running back Frankie Arthur for an official visit starting Thursday, a source told On3. The four-star prospect has been linked to program like Houston, Kansas, Oregon, Texas Tech, TCU, UTSA and others throughout his recruitment.

Running backs coach Khenon Hall has ties to Arthur, the brother of future NFL Hall of Famer and former Oklahoma star Adrian Peterson.

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, the is the No. 211 overall prospect in the nation No. 17 overall running back in the country and No. 41 prospect in Texas.

SMU leads the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine over Houston, Kansas and others.

Arthur’s been on a tear in track and field, clocking a personal best 10.71 100-meter time this spring. He also has a 22.69 200-meter time on his resume.

As a junior, Arthur rushed 159 times for 1,445 yards and 18 touchdowns, good for 9.1 yards per carry. He caught 19 passes for 250 yards and two scores.

SMU currently has four commitments on board in the 2024 recruiting class, which sits at No. 2 in the American Athletic Conference rankings. Quarterback Tyler Aronson, athlete Jamyri Cauley and offensive linemen Graham Uter and King Large make up the group.
