Skip Bayless shares take on Micah Parsons criticizing Giants for keeping Daniel Jones in during blowout

Many were critical of Giants head coach Brian Daboll for leaving starting quarterback Daniel Jones in the game late while trailing the Cowboys 40-0 on Sunday Night Football. Even Dallas star Micah Parsons called out the team for the questionable decision. But FS1 personality Skip Bayless actually hoped the linebacker would call out someone else.
During an episode of Undisputed, Bayless said he hoped Parsons would’ve said something about his own staff. In his eyes, there was no reason for the Cowboys to keep the first-string guys on the field, either.
“I wish Micah had criticized his own coach, as in Mike McCarthy, because I was pulling my hair out,” Bayless said. “I was screaming at my TV on Sunday night because we went to the fourth quarter of that game and my first-string offense was still in the game, playing a series, with Dak at quarterback and Tony Pollard at running back. It’s 40-0 in the fourth quarter, they’re still playing.”
Dallas dominated New York on both sides of the football in the opener last weekend. And while not many like to admit when Bayless is right, he may have a point here.
It might have been reckless for both coaches to keep their first-team offense in the game at that late stage. Then again, Michael Irvin said players need the extra reps at this early point in the year.
Bayless’ comments come in response to recent remarks made by Parsons on a podcast. He called out the Giants staff for leaving Jones in the game despite trailing by 40 points.
“It’s called protecting your guy — something I thought the Giants should have done,” Parsons said on The Edge podcast, via Giants Wire. “I don’t think Daniel Jones should have been in that game in the fourth quarter. I thought they should have protected him and pulled him out and, barring injury, their season would be over without Daniel Jones. The Bengals did the smart decision by pulling Joe Burrow.
“I do not agree with Daniel Jones staying out there until that last drive. I thought that was wrong… Thought it was deceiving. That’s your franchise quarterback and he’s out there with a backup offensive line, still getting sacked and hit. I just didn’t understand, maybe it was a prove-it moment by the Giants, I have no idea. A learning lesson. Who knows?”
Dallas battles another New York team in Week 2, hosting the Jets on Sunday.
