Rusty’s Ramblings: More big decisions coming for Georgia targets

Rusty’s Ramblings: More big decisions coming for Georgia targets

DawgsHQ has written and talked a lot about the four commitment announcements coming in the first half of July. Well, when you lengthen the time line a little, it could be an even bigger stretch for Georgia. Let’s take a look at the latest…

Buford five-star KJ Bolden will decide on August 5 and that was expected with him playing at Buford. As we have said before, that program likes for its prospects to wrap up their recruitments before the season starts. This one is not over and there are going to be twists and turns down the stretch whether we hear about them or not. I would pick Georgia today but I am telling you that this one is not over and it will likely come down to that week. Ohio State, Alabama and Georgia — this is big-boy recruiting for one of the nation’s best at Safety.

As I have said from my first day at DawgsHQ, I don’t think Demarcus Riddick ends up in this class. He makes a final decision later this month and I would say, at this time, he’s going to pick an in-state school. I am not going to sugarcoat things like this and I want to reiterate my thoughts on Riddick regularly. Georgia will still try to keep him, but I think most of the momentum is with Auburn and Alabama right now.

I have made some calls over the last few days on five-star EDGE/defensive lineman Williams Nwaneri. If I have to pick right now, I’m going with Georgia. I have been told by two different sources outside of Athens that the relationship with Chidera Uzo-Diribe is something working in Georgia’s favor. He also has family in Atlanta. That would be a HUGE get for someone that Georgia has been high on for a long time. Oklahoma has recruited him hard for a long time and won’t be giving up. I lean toward this recruitment being over before September but I will keep an eye on it. Like most major 2024 targets, the process is getting long after all of these visits.

Georgia enters the month of July with the No. 1-rated recruiting class in the country and the Bulldogs will be adding some BIG pieces to it soon.
