Rocky Top Rewind: Vols look better, ready for South Carolina matchup
Tennessee picked up the 45-14 win over the University of Texas at San Antonio on Saturday, bouncing back from a bad loss on the road in The Swamp from the week before.
But was the Tennessee win over the Roadrunners enough to instill confidence back in the Big Orange when Southeastern Conference play resumes with South Carolina this weekend? It’s going to be a big week on Rocky Top with plenty on the line this weekend with the Gamecocks.
Join Brent Hubbs, Eric Cain and Austin Price as they recap the Tennessee win over UTSA and welcome Collyn Taylor of Gamecock Central to preview South Carolina. The Rocky Top Rewind is presented by our friends Spivey, King & Spivey, LLP. For a free consultation, give them a call today at 423-245-4185 for a free consultation.
Quote of the Show – Previewing South Carolina
Collyn Taylor on the play of South Carolina quarterback Spencer Rattler and the challenge for Tennessee….
“Yeah, a lot of what Spencer Rattler has done well you can kind of trace back to maybe the two weeks before that Tennessee game but really that Tennessee game where he goes off for 460-something yards, six touchdowns. That’s just kind of carried over. He’s protecting the ball. He knows where to go. He’s not struggling to really understand what this offense is doing. You saw a lot of that last year where they were trying to put square peg in a round hole and Dowell Loggains comes in and they’ve only played four games – if my math is right, that’s what 16 quarters of football. It feels more streamlined. They’re doing a lot of the same stuff offensively, but more streamlined, more to Spencer’s skill set. He’s able to change play calls. But yeah, that’s that’s been the reason why they have two wins right now. Without Spencer Rattler, I don’t know where they would be.”
