Robert Griffin III expected to be hired by FOX Sports as No. 2 college football analyst

Robert Griffin III hasn’t been fully working in the media since his firing last fall from ESPN. He’ll now reportedly be with a competitor, though, in a return to the booth for next season.
Per Andrew Marchand at The Athletic, Griffin III is expected to be hired by FOX Sports. He would join them in serving as their second game analyst.
“NEWS: After being fired by ESPN, Robert Griffin III is expected to be hired by Fox Sports as its No. 2 game analyst, The Athletic has learned,” Marchand tweeted on Thursday.
Griffin III had been at ESPN since 2021 before his firing in mid-August of 2024 with two years left on his deal at the company. No official reasoning for the end of his time there was given with several names at the network being laid off last year due to apparent cost cuts. That’s after RGIII had made regular appearances as an analyst on shows like ‘Get Up’, ‘First Take’, and ‘Monday Night Countdown’ as well as a color commentator for college football games.
Since then, Griffin III has maintained his presence on social media. He often posts on Twitter to share takes on football, in college and the pros, while also still having a podcast titled ‘Outta Pocket with RGIII’.
