Class of 2026 offensive lineman, Gregory Patrick, of Portage (MI) Nothern, has stamped himself as a name to watch, not just in Michigan, but nationally in the class of 2026. The 6-foot-4, 260-pounder just picked up his sixth offer from Oklahoma, after participating in the Sooner summer camp.

Michigan State as not yet offered, as Oklahoma joins Minnesota, Western Michigan, Toledo, Miami (OH), and Central Michigan in offering the high school freshman.

“Things have been going really well so far,” Patrick said. “Lots of schools have been reaching out to me. I am approaching it with no bias. I will treat every school with an equal opportunity. My coaches and I have been talking to a lot of coaches.”

After completing camp with Oklahoma, and earning himself an offer, Patrick will now look to his next stop at Notre Dame for camp. He also plans to camp with Michigan State on June 21.

“(College coaches) say I move exceptionally well for a lineman,” Patrick said. “I play with a good explosiveness and bend. I play with physicality until the end of the snap. That is just a credit to my hard work, it is just how I play.”

“If you took a quick peak at me, you wouldn’t realize I am 265-pounds,” Patrick said. “I want to show that I can play with the bigger people. I can block everything that everyone else can, my size has not held me back at all, it’s actually helped me move better.”

Gregory’s father, Joseph Patrick played offensive line for Michigan State from 2000-2003. His uncle, Chris Patrick played at Nebraska before making a stint in the NFL.

“My dad played at Michigan State for three seasons,” Patrick said. “He was a starter and everything, but ended up hurting his back deadlifting. My uncle played at Nebraska and then moving on to the NFL for five years.”

With both of his parents being Michigan State alumni, Patrick has grown up very aware of the Spartans, already forming strong bonds in East Lansing.

“I have known Coach (Chris) Kapilovic for a decent amount of time now,” Patrick said. “My coach has been in touch with him a lot. I have seen him on campus as well. It was cool to talk to him about different stuff and I am excited to get up there for camp.”

“It is a nice thing,” Patrick said. “I have built closer relationships than I would normally have with my connections, it means a little bit more to me, but it also means a lot to have a school with no connections offer me as well. Where my dad and uncle went to school will influence me a little bit, but it is not a make or break factor. I am looking at every school with an open mind.”
