Report: Tampa replaces Dallas for College Football Playoff National Championship in 2029

The 2029 College Football Playoff National Championship Game will be played in Tampa, according to Action Network’s Brett McMurphy. It replaces Dallas as the host site.

“Breaking: Tampa replaces Dallas to host Jan. 22, 2029 College Football Playoff title game, sources said,” McMurphy wrote on Twitter. “Other future national title sites, as I reported in May, remain Las Vegas (Jan. 25, 2027), New Orleans (Jan. 24, 2028) & Miami (Jan. 21, 2030). Tampa also hosted 2017 title game. Dallas couldn’t host in 2029 because of scheduling conflicts, sources said.”

Monday night’s game takes place in Atlanta while the 2026 edition will be in Miami next calendar year. As McMurphy reported, Las Vegas and New Orleans remain intact before Tampa.

The College Football Playoff title game will return to Miami in 2030.
