Report: SEC discussing going to 20 league games in 2025-26 season

The SEC is discussing a 20-game conference basketball schedule, according to multiple reports. They currently play an 18-game model.

If the change were to come, it would be after the 2024-25 college basketball season, sources tell college basketball analyst Jon Rothstein.

The SEC expanded to 16 teams earlier this month with the additions of Texas and Oklahoma from the Big 12 Conference. To compensate for the additional programs, two added games per season seems like the most logical way to go if there were to be a change. Rothstein’s source said that it’s “too early,” to tell either way.
