Report: Ladd McConkey ruled out vs. UT-Martin due to back injury
Georgia will be without wide receiver Ladd McConkey when it opens the season on Saturday, according to The Athletic’s Seth Emerson. He’s dealing with a back injury, which is why he’ll sit out the opener.
McConkey is coming off the best year of his career in Athens in 2022, totaling 762 yards and seven touchdowns as a key part of the offense. He also added two rushing touchdowns, as well.
His absence means Carson Beck will be without a key weapon when he makes his first start at quarterback for Georgia. Kickoff between the Bulldogs and UT-Martin is coming up at 6 p.m. ET.
