Report: FAU QB Casey Thompson out for season with torn ACL

FAU will be without quarterback Casey Thompson for the rest of the season. On Monday, ESPN’s Pete Thamel provided an update on Thompson, who went down with an injury against Clemson on Saturday.
“FAU quarterback Casey Thompson tore his ACL in the loss to Clemson on Saturday and will miss the rest of the season,” Thamel wrote on Twitter. “Thompson is a transfer from Nebraska and Texas and is in his sixth season of college football. FAU plays at Illinois this week.”
Thompson was off to a solid start this season for FAU. In three games, Thompson recorded 50 completions for 509 yards and five touchdowns. He also threw five interceptions through the first three contests.
