Red flag falls as hometown hero Burt Myers hits wall hard during Clash last chance qualifier

The hometown hero, Burt Myers, has ended his night in Bowman Gray. He will not race in the NASCAR Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium. With 13 laps to go in the Last Chance Qualifier, Myers found himself in the wall, and hard.
This was a huge hit for Burt Myers. He went nose-first into the wall. Really, the first big hit for this newly installed SAFER barrier. Things were intense early on and often at the Madhouse.
This Last Chance Qualifier is only 75 laps long. Just about every car on the track has damage of some kind.
Myers has taken his fair share of hits in his modified at Bowman Gray. Now he can add a Cup Series wreck to that list. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. may or may not have contributed. (He did).
This is a developing story…
