Recruits see Georgia Tech building a “special program”

Georgia Tech went to Ireland this past weekend and opened the season with a 24-21 victory over No. 10 Florida State.

Top prospects back in the United States were tuned in and continue to sense special things are happening for head coach Brent Key and the Yellow Jackets.

“Excited to be a part of the new culture that is being built,” Roswell (Ga.) Fellowship Christian School On3 Industry five-star offensive lineman Josh Petty said. He is the jewel of a Georgia Tech class that ranks No. 22 nationally.

“I love the relationship with (offensive line coach) Geep Wade and Brent Key. They inspire their guys and really know how to develop lineman.”

Georgia Tech looked inspired against the Seminoles, racking up nearly 200 yards rushing. Aidan Birr’s field goal with the final seconds running off the clock set Petty and company into a frenzy.

“The offensive numbers are impressive,” Petty said. “The win today is an announcement to college football that they are building a special program.”

Yellow Jackets lead for coveted defensive tackle

Georgia Tech is also working to build a special class. One of the next prospects Key and company would love to add is Bronx (NY) Cardinal Hays defensive lineman Blake Belin.

The Yellow Jackets are trending on the On3 RPM to ultimately land Belin.

“Their potential in through the roof,” Belin said. “And the coaching staff is amazing. Full of great people.”

Belin added the grit the program showed in the season-opening win caught his eye.

“There will to overcome adversity,” Belin stated.

Belin’s other finalists include Duke, Syracuse, Virginia and Wake Forest.
