Recruiting Humidor: Five-star Dakorien Moore, June Elite camp names, and prospects from the road

Inside Texas has the very latest on 2025 five-star Dakorien Moore, names and notes for June camps in Austin, and prospects from the road in Friday’s recruiting humidor.

Dakorien Moore, WR, Duncanville (Texas)

Where to begin? You can’t say you didn’t see this coming, unless you’re a few members at the Bengal Tiger. Our Eric Nahlin added a flip pick in early April, and our reporting repeatedly mentioned that the 6-foot-0, 170-pound five-star pass-catcher’s recruitment was far from over.

After catching up with Marjahn Moore, Dakorien’s mother, plus other sources around Duncanville, there was a strong sense this was coming.

“It was very tough,” Marjahn told Inside Texas. “He’d been thinking about it for the last month.”

What about a final decision?

“That’s coming,” said Marjahn. “Hopefully sooner rather than later.”

As Moore posted this morning, his recruitment is not open. He’ll take his official visits to Texas, Oregon, and Ohio State. Ohio State will push hard with Brian Hartline, Oregon just hired Ra’Shaad Samples, the son of Duncanville head coach Reginald Samples, to its staff. The Horns get the last official trip.

For the longest time, Moore and Texas have built a fantastic relationship with Chris Jackson prioritizing the speedy elite prospect. From Steve Sarkisian, Jeff Banks, and Colin Simmons, Moore has a ton of connections to the Texas program and we still feel confident he ends up on the Forty Acres.

JUNE CAMP NEWS

Before the Longhorns host their top 2025 targets for official visits throughout the month of June, Sarkisian and his staff will put on seven camps for prospects in grade 9-12. There will be camps for skill position players on June 1, 6, and 13. Big men will have their day on June 8. Specialists will get the chance to learn from Longhorn coaches on June 8 as well. 3rd-8th graders will have the chance on June 17.

While these camps are open to anyone who registers, Sarkisian and company want a few players to make their way to campus so the staff can get a first-hand look at their game. Conversely, this allows for the players to get an idea of what it’s like to be coached by members of the Longhorns football staff.

This will be an important camp for Sarkisian and AJ Milwee as Dia Bell and Troy Huhn will be on campus at the June 1 date.  More on that here and here.

In addition, top OL forKyle Flood like John Turntine will take part in the Longhorns’ camp on June 8.

RED OAK PROSPECTS

On Wednesday, Inside Texas visited Red Oak. The constantly-growing Metroplex suburb has 2025 talent like Taz Williams but also up-and-coming prospects in the 2026 and 2027 classes.

A couple of the 2027s who will camp at Texas in the coming weeks includes…

Dhillon McGee, ATH – 2027

McGee has offers from schools like Nebraska, Baylor, Arkansas, Texas Tech, UNLV, and Others. He visited the Longhorns on October 1 for the Longhorns’ win over Kansas. A multi-sport athlete at 6-foot-1, 170 pounds, McGee is an excellent baseball player and splits time in the spring between patrolling the warning track and the running track.

McGee, who logged a 10.64 100m during the spring season, plans to visit Texas and camp on June 1. He’s likely a corner at the next level.

Johnnie Fitzgerald, DL – 2027

Fitzgerald shows a tremendous amount of power and strength for a younger player. He has early offers from San Diego State and Texas Tech, and more schools are sure to join that group. He’ll be at the Longhorns’ OL/DL camp on June 8. Entering his sophomore year, Fitzgerald is 6-foot-3, 275 pounds.
