RADAR ’25: Four-star receiver Kamren Flowers details recruitment; Michigan State

Detroit, Mich. – Michigan State offered Class of 2025 four-star wide receiver Kamren Flowers, of West Bloomfield (Mich.) High School in October 2022. The Spartans were joined by offers from Wisconsin, Arizona State, Penn State, Miami (FL), and others earlier this spring. West Bloomfield High School welcomed a large group of college coaches to their school for a Detroit area showcase, at the beginning of May. The Sun Devils and Badgers both had coaches in attendance, where Flowers displayed his speed and route running abilities, earning himself the offers.
Flowers currently ranks the No. 324 overall recruit by the 2025 On3 Industry Rankings. He is also ranked the No. 46 wide receiver, and the No. 5 recruit in Michigan.
“I plan to visit Wisconsin at the end of the month (July 28),” Flowers told SpartanMag.com. “Hopefully to see what Arizona State is like, take a trip out there for the experience. I am looking for schools that fit my culture, their academics, being in the classroom, that matters. They’re resources, having the stuff that I need to function and perform my best.”
Flowers will enter his junior year with West Bloomfield High School, transferring in from Ann Arbor (Mich.) Huron.
“I really want to work on my route running,” Flowers said on how he is expanding his game. “I have been able to showcase my speed but being able to put my routes on display and being more polished as a receiver.”
The four-star most recently visited Michigan State in March 2023 for a practice.
“I was down there for practice and got to see some spring ball,” Flowers said. “I got to see Coach (Courtney) Hawkins again. He is a very familiar face; I see him often. I am on the same track team as his daughter. He cheers for his daughter, so it is nice having him so close to home. He would always be there for me if I needed it.”
“We are like family; we are really tight. It is a really strong relationship.”
There are multiple familiar faces on the Michigan State campus. Those include West Bloomfield High School graduates and current Spartans Dillon Tatum and Tre Mosley.
“I like how it is close to home,” Flowers said of his time in East Lansing. “I also like seeing my past teammates and other guys that I know. Guys like Dillon Tatum, Tre Mosley, people that I know. They tell me to ‘Go Green’, they want us to go there. They said they really like it and enjoy it, so that is good hearing that because I trust their word on it.”
“I had a good time there,” Flowers said. “I saw that they had a brand-new facility they are making. It is nice to see them involved with stuff like that.”
The success of former Michigan State receivers Jalen Nailor, of the Minnesota Vikings, and Jayden Reed of the Green Bay Packers, also caught the eye of in-state receiver.
Flowers also had the chance to meet Jayden Reed in East Lansing on his first Michigan State unofficial visit last fall.
“I like seeing that,” Flowers said. “I was excited to see him drafted by the Packers. When I was first offered by Michigan State, my first time up there I had actually had a close conversation with Jaylen Reed after he scored the winning touchdown against Wisconsin. It is great to see Michigan State can produce those type of guys to the next level.”
“Coach Hawkins knows what is talking about,” Flowers said. “He has been on the big stage before. Coach Hawk knows how it works and how it operates. I really have trust in him and what is doing to get guys to the next level.”
Flowers also sat down with Michigan State head coach Mel Tucker on his first visit and received the Spartan offer. Flowers has been impressed by the head coach and the direction of his program.
“I like Coach Tucker,” Flowers said. “The first time I visited Michigan State, when I was offered, I talked to him. He is a nice guy, he is very intimidating. I was very intimidated. He is a great guy, so I enjoy talking to him.”
