Purdue gearing up for big portal week with SEC OL duo visiting
The visits are starting to mount for Purdue next week as it is set to play host to two offensive linemen from Kentucky: Marc Nave and Wallace Unamba.
Nave will have three years of eligibility, while Unamba will have one.
A native of Toledo, Ohio, Nave committed to Ohio State out of Central Catholic High but flipped and signed with the Wildcats in December 2022. The 6-4, 330-pound Nave redshirted in 2023. He didn’t crack the two-deep rotation as a redshirt freshman in 2024.
The 6-6, 335-pound Unamba transferred to Kentucky after one season at New Mexico (2024), one season at Florida Atlantic (2023) and three seasons at Kilgore (Texas) Community College (2020-22). He started in 10 games at right tackle for the Lobos in 2024, after redshirting at FAU.
In addition Nave and Unamba, Purdue next week is set to play host to Georgia WR Nitro Tuggle on Monday along with Vanderbilt DT De’Marion Thomas and Eastern Kentucky OL Tyrell Green. George State EDGE Cam Williams, Arkansas State OL Makilan Thomas and Missouri State TE Lance Mason also are slated to visit West Lafayette.
Purdue already has eight commitments from the portal: Arkansas State DT Ian Jeffries, Auburn OL Bradyn Joiner, North Carolina QB Ryan Browne, Memphis DB Chalil Cummings, Tulsa WR Corey Smith, Tulane OL Jude McCoskey, Bowling Green DL Marcus Moore and LB Sanders Ellis of Tennessee State.
