Previewing Upcoming Commitment Announcements from Top USC Targets

Commitments are popping and top recruits, including several USC targets, have come off the board a little less than two weeks into July. Just in the past week alone, more than 60 prospects have committed to Power Four programs.

Four-star St. Louis (MO) Christian Brothers wide receiver Corey Simms announced his pledge to USC a week ago.

It appears the commitment announcements won’t be slowing down any time soon, as some of the nation’s top recruits are set to announce their decisions in the next few days.

With the help of the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) and our Intel, we’ll preview each of the expected announcements from two of USC’s top 2025 targets. Both took official visits last month.

Saturday, July 13

4-star WR Daylan McCutcheon
School: Lucas (Texas) Lovejoy
Industry Ranking: No. 98
On3 RPM: Texas 17.8%, Florida State 15.6%, SMU 11.2%, Ohio State 9.3%

The Skinny: McCutcheon took five official visits in May and June — SMU, Florida State, Texas, Ohio State and USC. He hasn’t given much away about who leads ahead of his commitment, but as his decision comes at 12pm CT today. On3’s Steve Wiltfong says he likes where the Seminoles are positioned with USC fighting to beat them out.

There are a few Florida State predictions among the three recruiting networks, but only from fan site writers. There hasn’t been a prediction submitted by anyone from On3 as of this morning. We’ll provide one final opinion later this morning at WeAreSC.com.

Monday, July 15

4-star WR Tanook Hines
School: Spring (Texas) Dekaney
Industry Ranking: No. 329
On3 RPM: USC 92.5%, Texas 2.7%%, Notre Dame 1.9%, ASU 1.2%

The Skinny: Hines took five official visits in May and June — USC, Notre Dame, Texas and ASu. He’s literally revealed nothing ahead of his commitment, but On3’s Steve Wiltfong and I were the first to submit predictions for the Trojans earlier this week.

Hines will announce his school choice at Dekaney HS on Monday with four-star tight end teammate Nick Townsend. We’ve submitted a Texas prediction for Townsend.

2025 Commits (13)

USC currently has 12 verbal commits from the class of 2025 in Julian “JuJu” Lewis, Matai Tagoa’i, Romero Ison, Harry Dalton, Trestin Castro, Gus Cordova, Shamar Arnoux, Willi Wascher, Riley Wormley, Hayden Lowe, Corey Simms, Elijah Vaikona and Daune Morris.
