Pretty Mischievous wins 149th Kentucky Oaks
On Friday evening at Churchill Downs, Pretty Mischievous brought home one of the biggest titles in thoroughbred racing claiming the 149th Kentucky Oaks crown. Things got tight down the stretch.
A hard-charging Gambling Girl made a serious run as the finish line approached and there was almost a need for a photo finish. However, enough work was done before crunch time to give jockey Tyler Gaffalione, trainer Brendan P. Walsh, and owner Godolphin, LLC. a monster win on Kentucky Derby weekend.
A strong pay day followed those bettors who had the winning tickets. Pretty Mischievous (10-1), Gambling Girl (13-1), and The Alys Look (30/1) joined to paid out $403.14 on a $2 exacta and $3,994.28 on a $2 trifecta. The $1.00 superfecta paid a ridiculous $15,391.00.
Pretty Mischievous now has five wins in seven career starts and has yet to finish outside of the money in any career start. All eyes now turn to the Kentucky Derby where Forte with jockey Irad Ortiz, Jr., trainer Todd Pletcher, and owners Repole Stable and St. Elias Stablesis the current betting favorite to claim the biggest trophy in horse racing.
