Positive reactions roll in from big Texas recruiting weekend

Recruit reaction continues to come in strong from the Longhorns City Limits event over the weekend as Steve Sarkisian and his Texas staff hosted top targets.

There were some really talented offensive lineman on campus.

“The environment was great,” Dickinson (Texas) High’s Tyler Thomas said. “Really helped tighten my grip on how I feel about Coach (Kyle) Flood and the entire Texas staff and program being around the players and watching how they operate in practice was great.”

San Francisco (Calif.) St. Ignatius College Prep offensive lineman John Mills has been to campus a couple times now.

“The environment in Austin was awesome,” Mills said. “The hospitality was amazing, and the love for me I feel, was genuine from the coaches and the players. The Longhorn program is attractive because of the future of the program. And the fact that Coach Flood is putting so many guys in the league and developing them as people not as athletes.

“I love UT.”

There was a terrific group of receivers in town including Houston (Texas) Hitchcock On300 pass catcher Kelshaun Johnson.

“The environment was good,” Johnson said. “Couldn’t have got any better and how the way they compete at practice they’re getting each other better every play.”

Los Angeles (Calif.) Oaks Christian On300 2026 running back Deshonne Redeaux also made it to campus.

“Texas was good, I’m glad I went up there to check them out,” Redeaux said. “I had a really good time.”
